So Appalled

Alright.  I'm down for crazy music videos and I understand that I need to view the media not as a person but as a whole grouping without standards, but upon recently watching the "monster" music video by Kanye west... from the first 30 seconds played I was shocked.  There were women being hung, decapitated and lied dead, naked surrounding the artists during the song.

I would hope that people would agree that this is a degrading view of women.. it brought a dominance for men and objectified the women.  It seems as though videos become more and more extreme to bring the 'wow' factor to the table.. it expresses a sort of desperate nature that says "hey look at the dead and naked women in my video...i need to try something so inhumane so you'll pay attention".  Is this what we hold our standards to?  Does this challenge our brains?  Does it get us to think about what we are capable of?  Is this really our best.... I just hope that if you do chose to watch this, either determine your own perspective or if you are a man, put yourself in my shoes, as if you were a woman.
